Mr. Mwima is a former member of the Executive Committee of NatureUganda and as Publicity secretary. He also chaired its Science and Technical subcommittee. He is Chairman Board of Directors, Nature Conservation Partners (NACOPART) - Uganda Limited. He has a Master of Science degree in Environmental management and B.Sc. Forestry, from Makerere University, Kampala. Trained and attained basic skills in utilizing Climate Vulnerability and Capacity Analysis (CVCA) & Community-based Risk Screening Tool.
He has a wealth of knowledge and skills in improving and promoting good forest governance, a key in containing current rampant forest deforestation and degradation, and ensuring equitable, sustainable use and management of forest resources. He has demonstrated these in working in all major forest landscapes in Uganda including but not limited to Budongo, Mabira, Bugoma, Kalangala, Echuya, Rwenzori Mountains, Mount Elgon, Moroto, Otzi, Kei, Kayoha-Kitomi and Maramagambo.
He has lots of experience in project management and proposal writing with all major funding bodies. Skills and practical experience in Forestry, Natural Resources Management, and Climate Change mitigation & adaptation mechanisms, including market-based approaches in conserving ecosystems such as the PES schemes; and public private partnerships in support of tree planting. He has worked in promoting and implementing projects geared to resilience of communities and biodiversity to climate change effects over many years.
